Rewards

Rewards in the Nori app help your family turn completed tasks into something fun. Family members can earn stars by completing tasks, then use those stars to redeem rewards created by the family.

Rewards and star balances are shared across the Nori app and Nori Family Hub, so changes made on one device appear on the others.

What You Can Do

Need	Use Rewards To
Motivate family members	Add stars to tasks so family members can earn them when tasks are completed.
Create family rewards	Choose a reward name, icon, star cost, eligible members, and whether the reward can be redeemed more than once.
Redeem a reward	Use a family member's stars to redeem a reward they are eligible for.
Check star balances	View each family member's current star balance in the Owner view of Tasks.
Review past redemptions	Open Redeem history to see which rewards were redeemed, by whom, and when.

How Stars Work

Stars are earned through tasks.

Create a new task or open an existing task to edit it.
Use the Stars field to choose how many stars the task is worth.
Assign the task to the appropriate family member or members.
When the task is marked complete, the assigned stars are added to the family member's balance.

If a completed task is marked incomplete again, the stars awarded for that completion are removed.

Changing the number of stars on a task only affects future completions. It does not change stars that were already awarded.

View a Family Member's Star Balance

Open Tasks and switch to Owner view. Each family member's current star balance appears next to their name.

When a task has stars assigned, the number of stars also appears on the task card. Tasks without stars do not show a star label.

Create a Reward

Open Rewards in the Nori app.
Tap the + button in the lower-right corner. If no rewards have been created yet, tap Create reward.
Optionally choose an icon.
Enter a reward name.
Set the number of stars required.
Select the family members who can redeem the reward. At least one member must be selected.
Choose whether to turn on Renew after redeeming.
Tap Done.

Renew After Redeeming

When Renew after redeeming is on, the reward remains available and can be redeemed again.
When it is off, the reward is available once and disappears from All rewards after it is redeemed. Its redemption record remains in Redeem history.

Find Rewards for a Family Member

On the All rewards page, use the member filter to show rewards available to specific family members.

Select one member to see rewards that member can redeem.
Select multiple members to see rewards available to any of the selected members.
Rewards created for all family members remain visible no matter which member is selected.
Clear the selection to show all rewards.

Redeem a Reward

Open Rewards and tap a reward card.
Review the star cost and the family members who are eligible.
Tap Redeem.
If only one family member is eligible, that member is selected automatically. If more than one member is eligible, select the member redeeming the reward.
Tap Redeem to confirm.
Tap Done after the redemption is complete.

The reward's star cost is deducted from the selected family member's balance.

Family members who do not have enough stars appear unavailable and cannot be selected. If no member is selected, Nori asks you to select one before continuing.

Undo a Redemption

Immediately after redeeming a reward, tap Unredeem on the success screen to cancel the redemption. The deducted stars are returned to the family member.

If the reward was a one-time reward, it becomes available in All rewards again.

Edit or Delete a Reward

Open a reward to view its details.

Tap the Edit icon to change the icon, name, star cost, eligible members, or Renew after redeeming setting.
Tap the Delete icon to remove the reward, then confirm the deletion.

Editing or deleting a reward does not change its previous records in Redeem history.

View Redeem History

Tap Redeem history from the All rewards page.

Redemptions are listed from newest to oldest. Each record shows:

The reward icon and name.
The number of stars used.
The date of redemption.
The family member who redeemed it.

Older records load as you scroll.

Notifications

When a family member redeems a reward, everyone in the family may receive a notification showing the reward name, the family member who redeemed it, and the number of stars used. Tapping the notification opens Redeem history.
