This article explains how free AI usage limits work and what changes when your family has Nori Plus.
Overview
Some Nori AI features are limited on the free plan. Nori Plus unlocks ongoing AI access for the family.
Free AI usage
Free accounts include a limited number of AI uses. In the current app experience, free AI access may show a remaining-use count before the limit is reached.
- Typing a request to AI can count as an AI use.
- Using photos, files, links, or email with AI can count as an AI use.
- AI shortcuts, such as meal planning or recipe import, can count as AI use.
When the limit is reached
If your free AI limit is reached, Nori may show an upgrade prompt. You can still use core family management features that do not require AI.
- Existing calendar events, tasks, recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists stay available.
- AI-created items that were already saved remain in your family data.
- New AI requests may require Nori Plus.
With Nori Plus
With an active Nori Plus membership, your family can keep using AI features across supported Nori platforms.
If your family is subscribed, Nori may stop showing a remaining-use count because the free limit no longer applies in the same way.
What does not count as AI
Using non-AI tools, such as manually creating an event, editing a task, updating a recipe, or adding a shopping item yourself, does not require AI access.
If you think the limit is wrong
- Make sure you are signed in to the correct account.
- Make sure you are viewing the correct family.
- Check whether the family has an active Nori Plus membership.
- Contact Nori Support if the app still shows the wrong AI access state.
