This article explains how to use Nori AI in the Nori app by typing, speaking, uploading content, or forwarding email.
Overview
Nori AI helps your family turn everyday information into action. You can ask it to create or update Calendar events, Tasks, Meal Plan items, Recipes, Shopping List items, and other family content.
AI features are part of Nori Plus. Free accounts include a limited number of AI uses.
Ways to use Nori AI

- Create a chore for Alex to take out the trash every Wednesday.
- Plan dinners for the next 5 weekdays.
- Import this recipe from a link.
- Add the ingredients from this recipe to Shopping List.
- Turn this school email into events and tasks.
AI shortcuts
Depending on your app version, Nori may show AI shortcuts for common jobs, such as planning meals, importing a recipe from a link, using a fridge photo, turning photos into events, or forwarding emails.
These shortcuts collect the details Nori needs before sending the request to AI Chat.
Review AI results
When Nori creates or updates family items, review the result before relying on it. Some AI results may include cards that open the related calendar event, task, recipe, or list item.
If Nori cannot complete a request, it should explain what happened so you can try again with clearer details.
Email to Nori
If Talk with AI via email is set up, you can forward supported emails to Nori. Nori may create an AI session for that email so you can review what was processed.
- If the email is accepted, you can review the result in the Nori app.
- If the email cannot be processed, Nori should explain the reason.
- If your free AI limit is reached, you may need to upgrade before the email can be processed.
