Overview
Photos and videos are managed in the Nori app and can be viewed on Nori Family Hub. Albums and media stay shared across the family, so family members can see the same photo library after content is uploaded.
- Use the Nori app to upload photos and videos, create albums, manage albums, and view photo details.
- Use Nori Family Hub to browse Photos, preview photos and videos, move photos into albums, delete photos, and set Photos as the screensaver.
- Use Photo Widget to see photos from the current screensaver photo source and start a temporary photo slideshow.
Before you start
- Upload photos and videos from the Nori app before you expect them to appear on Nori Family Hub.
- The Nori app supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, MP4, and MOV.
- The Nori app can show family storage use. Nori also has a total family storage limit and a per-upload item limit. If a file cannot be uploaded because of format or limit, the app shows an upload failed message.
- If your family has not connected a Nori Family Hub yet, the Nori app shows a reminder with options to connect a Nori Family Hub or buy one.
Steps
In the Nori app
- Open Photos from the side menu.
- Tap Upload.
- Choose photos or videos from your photo library, or take a new photo or video.
- Wait for the upload to finish. The app shows upload progress for batch uploads.
- Create albums, add photos to an album, rename albums, or delete albums as needed.
- Open a photo detail page to share, add to an album, download, delete, or view details.
Items that are still uploading cannot be modified until the upload is complete.
On the Nori device
- Open Photos.
- Choose All Photos or open an album.
- Tap any photo or video to preview it.
- Swipe left or right to move to the previous or next item.
- Tap anywhere to exit preview and return to Photos or the album.
- If you open preview from All Photos, preview includes all photos and videos.
- If you open preview from an album, preview stays within that album.
- Preview moves in order and does not follow screensaver preferences.
- Photos do not auto-advance in preview.
- Videos loop in preview until you switch items or exit.
Manage photos on the Nori device
- Tap Select.
- Choose one or more photos.
- Move the selected photos to an album, or delete them.
You cannot select photos and albums at the same time.
Set photos as the screensaver
On Nori Family Hub, Photos includes a 'Use as screensaver' option. This quickly sets your photos library as the screensaver source.
This action does not change your other screensaver settings. To adjust photo order, slide timing, or other Photo slideshow preferences, open Settings.
Photo Widget
Photo Widget shows media from the current screensaver photo source and changes items randomly.
- If no screensaver photo source has been set, Photo Widget randomly shows items from All Photos.
- In the small widget, landscape photos fill the area without black bars. Portrait photos are center-cropped.
- In the medium widget, portrait photos fill the area without black bars. Landscape photos are center-cropped.
Open Photos from Photo Widget
Tap the main Photo Widget area, not the Play button, to open Photos.
Start a slideshow from Photo Widget
- Tap Play on Photo Widget.
- Nori Family Hub starts Photo slideshow from the item currently shown in the widget.
Widget Play uses your Screen saver > Photo slideshow preferences for photo order and how long each item stays on screen.
If those preferences have never been set, Widget Play uses In Order, 15 seconds per item, and switches after a video finishes.
Widget Play starts a temporary slideshow session. It does not change your screensaver preferences.
If photos do not show
- Make sure the photos or videos finished uploading in the Nori app.
- Check that the selected album or screensaver photo source still has photos.
- If you expect photos to show on Nori Family Hub, make sure your family has connected a Nori Family Hub in the Nori app.
- If an upload failed, check whether the file format or upload limit caused the issue.
- If you are using Photo Widget, check whether a screensaver photo source has been set. If not, the widget uses All Photos.
