Use Tasks & Chores on Nori Family Hub to see what each family member needs to do today, mark tasks complete, and track stars and progress in one shared place.
This article explains how tasks, chores, routines, rewards, and protected actions work on the Family Hub screen.
What You Can Do
- View today's tasks by family member on the Task screen.
- Switch dates to see tasks for yesterday, today, or another day.
- See routines grouped by Morning, Afternoon, and Evening.
- See chores grouped separately under Chores.
- Check each person's progress with completed and total task counts.
- Open task details, edit tasks, share tasks, or delete tasks when available.
- Mark a task complete or incomplete from the task card.
- Earn stars from tasks when your family uses rewards.
The Family Hub, Nori app, and Nori Web stay in sync. When a task is completed on one device, the task status and progress update on the other views too.
Task Screen
The Family Hub has one Task screen. It shows tasks by family member so the family can quickly answer, "What does each person need to do today?"
- Each selected family member has a column or card with their avatar, name, progress bar, and completed / total count.
- If there are unassigned tasks for the selected day, an Unassigned area appears.
- If a member has no tasks, the screen can show a simple No tasks state.
- When there are more members than fit on screen, swipe horizontally to see more columns.
Groups only appear when there are tasks in that group.
Tasks, Chores, and Routines
Chores
Chores are flexible tasks. They can have a due date, due time, repeat schedule, reminder, list or folder, description, and attachments.
- If a chore has a due date, it appears with that time.
- If a chore has no due date or time, it can appear from the day it was created and is placed after dated tasks.
- Chores can become overdue if they are not completed by their due time.
Routines
Routines are for repeat daily behavior, such as brushing teeth, taking medicine, reading, or tidying a room.
- Routines use a time of day: Morning, Afternoon, or Evening.
- Routines do not use a due date or due time.
- Routines do not become overdue.
- Routines start on the day they are created and appear on dates that match their repeat rule.
If you change a task from Chore to Routine, date and time fields no longer apply. If you change a Routine to Chore, choose any due date, time, reminder, or list details you need.

Creating Tasks for Multiple Members
- When you select multiple members and leave Individual task off, Nori creates one shared task for those members.
- For a shared task, any selected member can mark it complete. Once it is completed, it counts as complete for all selected members, and all selected members receive the task stars when stars are assigned.
- When you select multiple members and turn Individual task on, Nori creates a separate task for each selected member.
- Separate Individual tasks can be completed independently by each member.
- Progress bars and completed counts update after tasks are completed.
Task Details
Select a task card to open its detail view. Details show the information available for that task.
- Task name and star badge, when stars are assigned.
- Due information for chores, or Morning / Afternoon / Evening for routines.
- Repeat information, when the task repeats.
- Assigned family members.
- Description, images, and files when added.
- Edit, share, or delete actions when available.
Completing Tasks
Tap the empty circle on a task card to mark it complete. Tap the checked circle to mark it incomplete again.
- The task updates immediately on the Family Hub.
- The member progress bar and completed / total count update immediately.
- Completed tasks stay visible in the selected day's view.
- Completed task names appear muted with a strikethrough.
- If the task has stars, Nori can show a completion animation.
Stars and Rewards
Stars help motivate children and family members to complete tasks when your family uses the rewards feature.
- A task can show a star badge such as 5 stars.
- When a rewarded task is completed, all assigned members earn the task stars according to your family setup.
- Rewards can show available rewards and redemption history.
- Redeeming a reward uses the family member's star balance.
Filters and Visibility
Filters control what appears on the Family Hub task screen.
- Turn a member off to hide that member from the Task screen.
- Turn a category off to hide tasks in that category.
- Visibility settings apply to the Task screen.
- At least one member should remain visible so the task board stays usable.
Protected Actions
If Parental Controls are turned on, completing tasks can require a PIN when Complete tasks is protected.
- Enter the PIN to continue the protected action.
- If you do not know the PIN, ask the family admin or parent who manages Parental Controls.
